Objective
The client for this role was looking for someone with experience in a niche industry. The ideal candidate would have an adaptive work ethic, managing multi-unit operations while leading company expansion efforts. The candidate should be equipped to handle acquisitions, rebrands and ownership conversions.
Process
The unique parameters of this role made for a challenging project for Leap. The sourcing portion of this recruiting cycle was extremely lengthy, leaving our team with the possibility of the role being temporarily shut down. Unfortunately, a number of selected candidates withdrew from the process, forcing the team to restart sourcing efforts. With dedicated work from the team, the perfect candidate finally entered the process. By shocking surprise, the client officially closed the role, leaving Leap with a perfect candidate and no role to fill. However, the candidate made a lasting impression on the client, leaving them with no other choice but to extend an offer to Leap’s candidate. She was the epitome of a “recruiting purple squirrel”.
Outcome
With this placement, our client found the person they needed for their team and our team learned a valuable lesson about perseverance. After the role had been closed and members of the team were given other tasks, they didn’t give up on this role or their perfect candidate. The team continued to put in time at the office as well as outside of the office, committing themselves to exceeding both client and candidate expectations. Both teams saw success and felt the reward of the Leap team’s hard work.
