The Journey to Success
The path to success is one of tenacity, flexibility, and never-ending education. It means overcoming obstacles, disappointments, and unexpected detours. Success is a journey that takes time to reach; rather, it is the product of perseverance, careful planning, and grasping possibilities. People develop vital abilities, experience priceless opportunities, and create a network of encouraging connections along the way. Achieving success requires personal development, accepting setbacks as teaching moments, and pursuing objectives with unshakable resolve. Craig Erlich's story is one full of potential and inspiration; anyone can achieve their goals as long as they stay determined and consistent.
A Career of Accomplishments
Erlich began his journey at KB Toys, where he spent 12 formative years. He was recognized for his exceptional leadership ability and promoted accordingly, receiving the title of Senior District Manager. Throughout his career Erlich was given several esteemed titles; regional manager at CVS, President & CEO of Brix Holdings, President & CEO of Friendly's Restaurants, and most recently CEO of Launch entertainment. Making big sacrifices and having to innovate to meet organizational and market demands are common obstacles a CEO will face. For Erlich, family is an important part of this journey, providing motivation and support that is priceless. While with Launch Family Entertainment, Erlich has sold 22 franchises, has 7 parks opening at the end of 2024, and is aiming to open another 12 in 2025.
The Importance of Family
Sharing a personal anecdote during his interview with Chaz Cervino, President of Leap Brands, Erlich explains how his family was the main drive in aiming high and achieving greater. Growing up, Erlich watched his father obsess over his 66' GTO and stressed to his son how hard he had to work and how much he saved up to afford that car. Unfortunately, the car was stolen. Knowing how much the car meant to his father, Erlich promised him that he would repurchase it for him, "one day when I make it". As an adult, Erlich achieved his dream and gifted his father the car on his 50th birthday. This small story offers a glimpse of Erlich's dedication to family.
Fostering Open Communication
In his concluding words, Erlich disclosed something to Chaz that he does not share often. Before speaking to a large crowd he listens to "Thunderstruck" by ACDC to give him a boost of energy and confidence. He then explains that he tries to resonate with the crowd, listen, and relate to them to the best of his ability. He prioritizes their success as his success is a direct reflection of his. A culture of open communication and trust is fostered when team leaders actively listen to their members. They need to show respect and value their contributors. Team members are encouraged to voice opinions, exchange ideas, and come up with creative solutions when there is open communication, which improves decision-making and problem-solving inside the company.
